Opening Remarks for An Evening with Friends

 Good evening everyone. Welcome and thank you for attending the ninth annual “Evening with Friends” benefit for the Steve S. Kang Young Artists and Scholars Fund. As a personal friend of Dr. and Mrs. Kang, I am much honored to be a part of this Fund. I appreciate the opportunity to share my respect and thoughts with you.
The Fund was established nine years ago by the Kang’s family to honor the memory of Steve Kang and enrich the talents of young students in our community. Members of the Fund have provided many creative talents with the financial assistance to pursue their passion and to develop their independence in the arts and sciences. The fund has also brought together a community of colleagues, proud parents, and successful organizations to celebrate an event that many of us have had the privilege to participate in. It has allowed us to nurture the sense of pride and confidence in our community.
I am sure every one of you has a deep commitment in helping and investing in our younger generation. Let this evening be a time to celebrate our friendship, to appreciate our achievement, and renew our commitment for a better future. Again welcome to the Fund and enjoy the evening. Thank you.
